As a marketing major, I have learned many conceptual frameworks that have helped me visualize and understand how value is created and delivered to consumers. The Social Media Magnet was the first class that provided me with an opportunity to apply this knowledge to the digital marketplace of the 21st century. Yes, this class taught me how to use Facebook, Instagram, etc. to deliver an impactful message to potential consumers. But it also taught me how to set up a WordPress website, how to use google analytics to make data-driven decisions for my brand, and how to optimize blog posts for discovery by search engines. From brand creation to customer retention, the Social Media Magnet allowed me to practice real-life skills that will be applicable in any business field. I will definitely be putting this class on my resume!
